📃 Iteration 49 roadmap

This post outlines our targets for the upcoming iteration. The goal is to provide a summary of where we are going.

New features / enhancements

• Support for advanced lists (document lists) - this will span across a few iterations
• Redesign and introduce a new reconversion system - this will span across a few iterations
• Real-time collaboration support in revision history - this will span across a few iterations
• Support for Shift+Delete on Windows to cut the selected content - merged 🎉
• New API for #refreshItem() and #refreshMarker() - implement the EditingController#reconvertMarker() and #reconvertItem() methods for marker conversion purposes - merged 🎉
• Possibility to open a link with Ctrl/Cmd+click or Alt+Enter - merged 🎉
• Mark the default output for features in the HTML output guide - merged 🎉

Bug fixes

• Selection is sometimes not merged correctly - merged 🎉
• It's almost impossible to click certain buttons in the balloon toolbar (Safari, iOS) - merged 🎉
• The editor builder defaultConfig.language does not apply to editor.locale - merged 🎉
• Find and replace does not find whole words that are next to each other - merged 🎉
• Figure tag gets duplicated when the General HTML Support configuration allows all - merged 🎉

Finally, there are some more bug fixes and minor improvements planned for the 49th iteration. See the list of issues assigned to the current iteration for more details.

Dates

The code freeze is planned for December 1st, 2021, followed by releasing npm packages on December 7th, 2021.

Please keep in mind that these plans are subject to change and even though we put all our energy to deliver all the items mentioned above, the iteration plan may change at any point.
