CIC Register should do a better job of handling the available user and group types in the TCA out of the box

Out of the box, CIC register does not change the available feuser types. This makes it very easy for people to create users with no type or with the incorrect type, which means cic register can't find the user record when it queries its repositories. This should be improved in cic register's TCA settings.
