The information on horizontal rule is too broad and out-of-date for the most part. In our v1 Figma kit, it is one of the most used components.

v1 updates:

  • The content is too broad – we should include more specific information such as content block where the horizontal rule is used.
  • The Fluid section is too vague – we could use an animated GIF to better communicate.
  • Rework page content to discuss the different options for horizontal rule: Contrast, Size, Dashed, and Weight.

v1 Image production updates:

  • Update first image to display multiple options.
  • Update Fixed image to label different sizes.
  • Remove Use case section under Fixed.
  • Create new animated GIF for Fluid horizontal rule
  • Remove or update the two images for Fluid under Use case

Future enhancement:

  • Consider better guidance for things like Contrast or Dashed. These are available, but we provide no real guidance on how to use these.
