Here’s is a quick tutorial on how to set up an AEVO Masternode on a VPS other than 01vps.net. In this example, I will use Vultr. 01Vps.net has a quick deploy AEVO recipe that can speed up the process.
====================
Starting the Windows Wallet
====================
⦁ Download the latest release from https://github.com/aevocommunity/aevocoin/releases
⦁ Run the wallet from the directory it was downloaded to and wait for sync.
⦁ If needed, go to Help > Debug > Console and add nodes with the command addnode (IP) add and change the (IP) with an IP address from the list at http://explorer.aevocoin.net/network
⦁ Once synced, go to Recived and click on New Address
⦁ Enter a label for your new MN address. For instance Masternode1, MN1 or whatever else you choose.
⦁ Copy the new address and send exactly 42500 AEVO to this address.
⦁ Wait for at least 1 confirmation and then go to Help > Debug > Console.
⦁ Type masternode genkey and press enter. Then type masternode outputs and press enter. Copy this information and paste it in a text file (such as Notepad) to save for later.
⦁ Get the IP address of your VPS started in the next section.
⦁ In the Windows wallet, click Masternodes and then click Create at the top.
⦁ Enter the following information in the box that opens:
⦁ Alias: Label used in step 5
⦁ Address: IP of VPS:13371 (Example: 127.0.0.1:13371
⦁ Privkey: Information save from masternode genkey
⦁ TxHash: First part of masternode outputs
⦁ Output Index: Second part of masternode outputs. Should be just a 1 or 0
⦁ Reward Address: Use if you would like your masternode reward to go to an address other than your masternode.
⦁ Reward%: Use only if you entered something in step 6. Usually this would be 100 if you added an address to the previous step.
⦁ Click OK
====================
DEPLOYING VPS
====================
⦁ Create an account at https://www.vultr.com/?ref=7277412 (referral link, Thank You!)
⦁ Deploy new server, select location of server, select Ubuntu 16.04, select any server size, and enter hostname.
⦁ Click DEPLOY NOW
Next you need to SSH into your server. The software I use to accomplish this is www.putty.org
4. Log in with your username and password found on Vultr dashboard.
5. Make sure you have the necessary files to run the wallet:
apt-get install build-essential libssl-dev libdb++-dev libboost-all-dev libqrencode-dev miniupnpc libminiupnpc-dev autoconf pkg-config libtool autotools-dev libqt5gui5 libqt5core5a libqt5dbus5 qttools5-dev qttools5-dev-tools libprotobuf-dev automake -y
add-apt-repository ppa:bitcoin/bitcoin
apt-get update
apt-get install libdb4.8-dev libdb4.8++-dev
====================
INSTALLING AEVO ON VPS
====================
⦁ wget https://github.com/aevocommunity/aevocoin/releases/download/v1.0/Ubuntu.16.aevod
⦁ mv Ubuntu.16.aevod aevod
⦁ Start the wallet with ./aevod (will get an error telling you to modify the Aevo.conf)
EDITING CONFIGURATION FILES
====================
You can now edit the Aevo.conf files to complete the remote controller masternode setup.
rpcuser=XXXXXXXXXXXX
rpcpassword=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
listen=1
server=1
daemon=1
logtimestamps=1
maxconnections=256
masternode=1
masternodeprivkey=[MASTERNODE GENKEY]
masternodeaddr=[SERVER IP ADDRESS]:13371
addnode=149.28.61.124
====================
STARTING WALLET
====================
⦁ After editing the config file, you can now start the wallet
⦁ ./aevod
⦁ Wait for wallet to sync and match the latest block at explorer.aevocoin.net
⦁ ./aevod getinfo
⦁ Once synced, go to the Windows wallet, Masternodes, Click on MN1 then click Start
⦁ On the VPS, type ./aevod masternode start
⦁ Wait for those sweet rewards!
