where and how to make smtp settings on self hosted cal.com

I checked articles but couldn't find any information about how to make smtp settings for self hosted cal.com. I am using Microsoft Exchange 2016 on promise. How can I send emails and invitations from my smtp ? any idea please.

i am not sure if microsoft exchange 2016 works. we recommend a proper email send service like sendgrid

we use Nodemailer for sending emails, in order to configure a smtp provider you have to set these environment variables in the .env file, which can be found in the root of the folder.

EMAIL_SERVER_PORT=
EMAIL_SERVER_USER=
EMAIL_SERVER_PASSWORD=

Also you can just use a single stmp connection string override using the EMAIL_SERVER env variable.

I checked all configuration and I added configurations you told above to .env file but cant send and recieve email. is there a log file that I can trace what is happening or is there any application that ı can add email settings easily on calcom selfhosted? or is there any video for help us to set email settings? realy I need your help. I don't this this is the same issue. Also we don't think we can help without more context about your specific server.

123.123.123.123 > Probably cal.com expects an SSL-certificate for SMTP, so maybe it is not possible to connect to an IP, but you should try it with the domain-name, that the certificate is valid for.
