Sometimes a request for, for example, optical data, times out because a requests exceeds the web browser's request timeout, see #200 Why does this happen?

  • Install some logging/profiling to figure out the source of the problem.
  • Make the metabase not wait too long for a product database to answer (maybe limit it to 60 seconds; 90 seconds is the defaults request timeout of Firefox).
