A couple features that would greatly improve the upload view in my opinion. I’ve attached a shitty mockup of how I imagine the new upload changes view could look like.

  • Itemized list of all actual changes. Right now, it shows only tags, and it shows all tags of changed nodes regardless of whether the tags actually have been changed. I would like to see especially if the position of the node has changed.
  • This includes seeing what tags have been added, modified (including the old value), and deleted.
  • Easy way to revert changes. Right now the only way to actually undo any kind of mistakes as far as I know is the undo button which isn’t a good solution for when you notice a mistake that has been made a while ago, or manually undoing the change by changing it back to what it was before (additionally the previous value isn’t displayed anywhere in the UI).
  • Easy way to select which changes to upload. Sometimes you want to split something into multiple changesets, right now you have to finish editing the first set of changes and upload them before beginning work on the second. (Alternatively, what I do is send the changes to JOSM which allows me to split it up)
  • Jump to node/to tag editor. In the mockup that’s what the “Details” button is supposed to do.
