You are welcome to contribute, bringing the real SHA3 to the lib.

Just renaming is something for a major release only, because it's a breaking change.

I've had the same problem in the sha3 project. This PR brings modern SHA-3 to that library in a backwards-compatible way, but is in need of review. As a pure JS implementation, feel free to reference/copy/etc.

Can we have an update on this ? The change seems to do its job. I would love to see this in a new release.
