Description

When explicite request to open a http page Brave keeps trying https

Steps to Reproduce

  1. using an webserver (not an website!) that serves http and https different content.
  2. Go to domain.com > brave will automatic change to https and gives an error since the security certificate is incorrect for the given domain.
  3. go to https in the adressbar and change it to http to give an explicit request for http.
  4. brave ignores the request and tries again to use http
  5. give up and use another browser to reach the requested website :(

Actual result:

not able to visit the http webpage

Expected result:

be able to visit a http website

Reproduces how often:

as long as the ip behind the domain has port 80 and 443 open.

Go to Settings->Shields and disable Upgrade connections to HTTPS.

Closing per last comment. That setting should do the trick.

@rebron I've the same issue, also when disabling the "Upgrade connections to HTTPS" and as well "Always use secure connections" within the Security settings.
Should I create a new issue, or can we discuss it here?
