It can be useful to share pure python scripts across multiple workflows, but there is currently no easy way to customize the IronPython installation other than manually modifying the package folder or setting python search paths manually inside scripts.

A useful functionality would be to automatically add both the project and editor extensions folder to the IronPython search path when initializing the engine.
