In my view cids surface in two different ways. The first is a qualifier to support an integrity check or strong reference. For example, in an The second is as a stand-in for the content itself, where the cid is actually intended to be dereferenced in some way and content found on the other end. Per the docs, there are 3 ways: lexicon type

.Why though? Isn't the
cid-link
