[BUG] Copying table from Google sheets to Gmail

Describe the bug
It does not seem to be possible to copy paste table from google sheets to gmail anymore. It used to be the quickest and easiest way to compose email with a table but now it only pastes HTML code. It does paste correctly from one place on Google Sheet to another in the Google Sheet. Just not to Gmail anymore where pasting as plain text also yields the same HTML result which also is not expected behaviour.
Edit: I just noticed that inside Google sheets it also can not paste as plain text. It pastes the HTML gibberish.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Go to google sheets and select few cells with data
2. In Gmail, compose new email and paste (either by pressing CMD+V or CMD+Shift+V)
3. See that it pastes html data rather than table or cell contents

Expected behavior
It used to paste cells or their contents when CMD+Shif+V was pressed.

I am pretty sure I could do it in the previous version of Chromium legacy.

I can confirm this bug is happening to me as well. It pastes the HTML everywhere outside of sheets. Used to paste to Apple Numbers fine but no longer does.

I can also confirm. It's not clear to me if this is a regression in Chromium Legacy, or if something changed in Google Sheets.

As ThaZMan said, it's not just Gmail. The copied content gets pasted as HTML everywhere, even in a plain-text editor.

And while it's very possible that something changed in Google Sheets, it's worth noting that I'm not seeing this behavior in Waterforx Classic 2022.11 or Chrome 87 (both of which are "unsupported" for Google Sheets).

It doesn't do this literally everywhere, though. For example, I can copy paste text out of Google Docs without issue.

Edit: Oh, I misread your post. Yes, pasting the text anywhere will lead to problems, but copying it is only a problem from certain websites (maybe even just Google Sheets).

Yeah, I haven't seen any issues with Google Docs, just Sheets.
