Feature request: start/stop stream switches, exposed to Home Assistant #250
Comments
Thanks, there's already a feature request for this upstream blakeblackshear/frigate#1911 Will need to have support there before it can be added here 👍 |

Hello, I would love to see this feature as well 👍 |
I have a few cameras inside my house that I want to turn the streams off for when I'm home, not just start/stop detection, but stop them displaying at all in the frontend. I've found many camera integrations in Home Assistant don't work with the camera.turn_on or .turn_off service calls.
It would be great if Frigate could have a switch exposed to HA to stop reading from the camera stream when it's off. It would save the wifi cameras traffic while I'm home, a bit of power as they switch into a low power mode and frigate would have less streams to chew through.
Thanks for reading.
