If targeting a production deployment, which version should be used?

I'm considering websockets options and wondering if this remains a viable platform for production ? The promise of V2 seems to be waning, and there appears to be issues when using this with current versions of Laravel, so I'm wondering whether other options should be considered.

Should this software be used for production?
