In free text search fields some letters 'merge'

When you are entering letters into a free text search field some letters will merge together so far I have found that
"ft","ti" and "fi"
will merge together, this means that the cursor will not move inbetween the two letters. They literally become inseparable!
Letters in Caps lock will not merge, also the issue cannot be replicated in other fonts
