Is there a recommended way to track payment history?

use case 1

• order quote is for 10
• payment made for 10
• payment acknowledged for 10
• after a cancellation , quote updated to 8
• refund made for 8
• refund acknowledged for 8

usecase 2

• order quote - 10
• advance paid 8
• advance verified 8
• order delivered
• balance payment paid -2
• balance payment ack -2

Summary:

While payment happens outside the network, payment needs to be tracked between trading parties.

Possible solution

1. In 1.0, we have a payment array inside order , we can use this to track all payments made between the parties.
2. Total of these payments taking into account the direction of the payment, can be netted to see current payment position and compared to the order quote
3. Payment status unpaid, paid, verified can be used to track state of each payment.

Objection so far (@ravi-prakash-v )
Payments array was created for tracking payment tranches for a finance use case . Not sure if it is right to use this.

Recommendations please.
