This page summarizes the reports from users to investigate whether your hardware supports this driver or not. And you can find which ethernet dongle is popular.
You may also be interested in Popular Switches page to upgrade your network.
- Reports are accepted in this thread.
- Of course, creating an individual issue to explain details is welcome.
- Don't mind if there is already a report for the same environment.
- For other users, multiple reports are useful to determine stability and popularity.
I would appreciate it if you join here!
If you visited here from some external forums, please share URLs of them. I will gather reports from there and add them to this page.
-
Not work
- Failed to install the driver or the device is not recognized correctly
-
Work
- The device seems to work correctly
- It is expected to work stably, but further verification is needed.
-
Stable
- No major issue over 2 weeks
- No major issue with large file transfer(at least 30min, speed degradation due to thermal throttling may occur)
-
Unstable
- Disconnection or other major issues are observed under long-term use or high load condition
-
Slow
- The device works, but it has performance issues
- Older models or models that come with less memory seem to have stability/performance issues with the USB Host controller or kernel driver.
- However, since hardware seems to have individual differences, it is difficult to say whether drivers will work on your hardware or not.
- Recently released drivers apply stability enhancement settings by default. Some of the old reports of non-working/unstable may include cases that are not an issue now.
- If you find the same configuration as yours in this table and want further information, click the "Status" and ask the author of its report.
- The compatibility table of the r8152 driver is also helpful in determining platform stability trends.
