I agree, the extension in OpenVSX has become very outdated and misses the new features like support for shfmt.

I have open a PR EclipseFdn/publish-extensions#814 to update the extension provided by openvsx. Let's see if that works.

EDIT: Changing the package manager to pnpm is the reason why the extension stop receiving updates. Waiting for approval.
