shields.io provides badges for a number of distribution services. What's missing for me is a badge for an Ubuntu PPA (e.g., this one), perhaps with the latest version offered.

This seems like the correct API, but I can't figure out how to get the latest version right now.

I don't think there is a single "latest" version since a PPA might offer different versions for different Ubuntu releases. That said, in terms of Debian versioning 12.5-wily1 is less than 12.5-xenial1.
