I am trying to connect my VS Code account with AWS Code Commit.
I have followed the steps from here:- https://docs.aws.amazon.com/codecommit/latest/userguide/setting-up-ide-vs.html
In step-2, after downloading the AWS Toolkit, I am unable to install or view it in the Team Explorer in VS Code.
Much help appreciated.

Could you confirm that you are not using https://code.visualstudio.com/ but this: https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/. The toolkit is for the latter which only works on Windows.
