Due to required dependency updates, AWS SAM CLI will be dropping official support for MacOS versions older than MacOS 13.x Ventura.
Does this affect me?
If you are currently using MacOS 12.x Monterey or older and are using a native installer, this change could affect you as AWS SAM CLI will no longer be producing binaries guaranteed to work on those versions. If you are using a Linux or Windows these changes do not affect you. If you are on MacOS and using Homebrew as the installation method, or are on versions of MacOS 13.x Ventura or newer, these changes do not affect you.
When will official PKG installer support for MacOS 12.x Monterey or older go away?
AWS SAM CLI will no longer officially support PKG installation for MacOS 12.x Monterey or older starting in April 2024.
What should I do to avoid being impacted?
Upgrade to a supported version of MacOS or install AWS SAM CLI through Homebrew.
