E.g., no crashing of unit tests or other cryptic error messages; no wasting of submission attempts. Slight slowdowns in grading are acceptable. If absolutely necessary, the system could display a clear error message to the effect of "brief maintenance break; please try again in a minute".

The new course configuration tool (Shepherd) with the new MOOC-grader (using Shepherd) is supposed to fix this issue. (In other words, when the current gitmanager course update is replaced with a more robust solution in the MOOC-grader.)

Status update. I have been drafting code that removes NFS share from kubernetes setup. This works by copying the exercise files to the container,which should fix this issue.
