OpenDAL has evolved beyond being just a Rust core library. There are numerous areas to explore.
New ideas are always welcome! |

A C++ binding would be useful since OpenDAL is mainly used by data-intensive applications, which are mostly written in C/C++/Rust nowadays. Moreover, a C++ binding might introduce namespace and better generics, which mitigate the problems we met in implementing the C binding. |

I think it's good, I may try to apply if there is a slot for it. |

Hello, OpenDAL community members!
We are excited to announce that we are participating in the Open Source Promotion Plan (OSPP) 2023, a summer program that encourages students to contribute to open source projects. We are looking for project ideas that can benefit the OpenDAL community and the open source ecosystem.
Currently, we have 2 project slots available.
If you have a project idea that you would like to propose, please comment below this post with the following information:
Please note that submitting a project idea does not guarantee that you will be accepted as a candidate for the OSPP program. At this stage, we are only collecting and discussing potential projects. This is not a formal application process. The final selection of candidates and mentors will be based on the quality of the project proposals, the availability of mentors, and the compatibility of skills and interests. We will inform you of the next steps and the application process once we have finalized the list of projects. Thank you for your interest and participation!
We encourage you to be creative and innovative with your project ideas, but also realistic and feasible. We also welcome collaboration and feedback from other community members, so feel free to comment on each other’s proposals and offer suggestions or support.
The deadline for discussing project ideas is April 22th, 2023. Because we need to finish the submission on the April 26th. We look forward to hearing from you and working with you on some amazing open source projects!
