getting error with ng serve --prod

The same error for a newly generated mobile app. Steps to reproduce:

ng new my-app --mobile
cd my-app
ng build -prod 

CLI version:

$ ng --version
angular-cli: 1.0.0-beta.5
node: 6.2.0
os: darwin x64

Duplicate of #847.

The recommendation @stretchgz gave is the correct solution, and #972 should solve it for future projects.
