My personal recommendation for a license would be a short permissive license, such as an ISC-style license:

This software is distributed under the following ISC-style license:

  Copyright © year, name

  Permission to use, copy, modify, and/or distribute this software for any
  purpose with or without fee is hereby granted, provided that the above
  copyright notice and this permission notice appear in all copies.

  THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND THE AUTHOR DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES
  WITH REGARD TO THIS SOFTWARE INCLUDING ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF
  MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHOR BE LIABLE FOR
  ANY SPECIAL, DIRECT, INDIRECT, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR ANY DAMAGES

I guess it couldn't hurt to take a look at these things at some point, see what's the difference between them... but it looks so boring 😱

Of course, just like with the ISC license, you're supposed to precede the license text with some copyright statements.
