I think you're right that something broke timestamp sorting sometime in the past. You seem to be the first user, other than myself, who noticed it, so I guess it's not a feature people use much.
However, I don't understand why you're getting this error. What command are you calling with C-c q?
Hey, first off: Thanks for this wonderful package. I highly depend on it. It's the backbone of my org-mode info-world.
With C-c q I am calling (helm-org-rifle-org-directory). And the link above says I should be able to sort by timestamp.
Btw: Others don't use it maybe because it's not obvious there is / was an option to sort by timestamp. This is very essential to get a chrono view for the search results. And I believe that the time-component gives a dimension to infos that is invaluable. (To get an understanding for how events evolved, what I did first and when, and what came next etc).
The docu says on https://github.com/alphapapa/org-rifle#tips
So I hit
C-u
, thenC-c q
, but I get an error message:helm-org-rifle-directories: No org files found in directories: ~/Dropbox/org
But my org-agenda-files are in that folder, it's full of org files.
