Haven’t found this in the docs, is it possible to specify a local ip address (or NIC) when making a request? Would be lovely to have this feature

Hm…. We're just using Rust std TcpStream::connect, wonder if there is some way to do this in Rust?

Looks like it’s possible but idk how exactly, at least reqwest have this option https://docs.rs/reqwest/latest/reqwest/blocking/struct.ClientBuilder.html#method.local_address
This is probably related to #547 – i.e. ideally we find a lightweight crate that exposes these functions under a feature flag.
