the api only works with an api key which treats your privacy in a bad way:
https://developers.google.com/fonts/

so we will resort using the github repository of it.

the link the designers via google+ which is dead: https://plus.google.com/?pli=1

since github.com also limits access to it with api keys, i'll use a mirror of the github repo self hosted, looks do-able...

[done] apache licensed fonts need be added

each font directory has DESCRIPTION.en_us.html and METADATA.pb (which gifts us a category: like "SANS_SERIF")

most font designers are listed in catalog/designers with info.pb some have a bio.html and a portrait .png

maybe provide an autodebsrcpkg mechanism to automatically create a debian package?

@alexmyczko
If i known that earlier and they were up2date you could have just ran dpkg-scanpackages on those regularly and we could have used the index handling for debian fonts!!!
