Documentation incorrect for new control scheme #18
Comments
I observe the same symptom on my Nexus 7. Items place on release. |
At the moment, this is the intended behaviour. The version in the video is probably much older. The controls are far from perfect, but it's the most stable it's been for a while so I'm not particularly inclined to adjust the controls too much more at the moment. You shouldn't have to drag your finger to move the item, if you simply select it and then press once where you want the item to be placed then it should work. If you want to rotate the item, long press and then press again where you want it to be placed. |
Thanks Alan - with this info I was able to actually start playing successfully. The issue for me was that I couldn't rotate items - they would place immediately, and I couldn't pick them up successfully to rotate them later. The wiki and the demo video both describe picking up and rotating objects via dual-touch. They need to be updated to indicate the use of long-touch instead. |
You're quite right. I've taken the info from the Wiki here because it's outdated. I'll try and get a new video made when I have the time as there's other things in there that are done differently in the more recent versions too. Thanks for the feedback. |
New control scheme has been implemented in 1.0.0, but needs documentation |
Hi
I'm using version 0.3 with the original game (from CD) on a Galaxy Nexus running stock android 4.0.4. I have the following problem with the game controls:
When placing items, when I move my finger across the screen, the item moves properly (so far so good). But when I lift my finger the item is immediately placed. I don't have to tap the sceen to place it (from what i saw in a demo video on youtube, this isn't normal). The main problem this issue causes is that I cannot rotate items before placing them.
Either I'm doing something wrong or this is indeed a flaw.
