Zilla works hard to efficiently proxy all kinds of messages and protocols. Adding extra processing to log information about the traffic it manages could come at a cost but add much-needed visibility. With #679, Zilla can log some of the events for HTTP, MQTT, TLS, and Kafka bindings.

What types of logs do you find useful in your current Kafka ecosystem?

The Next phase of observability comes with adding support for OpenTelemetry in #785. Zilla will fit in your existing tracing systems and provide the context on why a message ended up on the topic that it did.
