nitrohax doesnt load my codes.xml

Not sure if im just stupid,but when i open my codes.xml with nitrohax it

says loading codes and then jumps back to the menue to choose your *.xml file if I retry opening the file it loads it but there are no cheats on the bottom,just the start game option(that works).On the topsreen it says "cheat list" and "(null)".
I am on a new 3ds and on the latest luma stable build.The game I am trying to use is the german version of pokemon head gold.

I think you have to name it cheats.xml instead of codes.xml.

I am having the same problem with my xml files

I don't have a clue whats wrong with it and It is named cheats.xml
