The box menu does not have many configurable options which restricts the potential use of it. Unless you are familiar and comfortable with CSS, users currently cannot change an items width, an items image responsively, nor group items into sections.
Your environment
v5 FW / AT
Proposed solution
Introduce configurable options to the menu that allow users of the Framework and Authoring Tool to change:
An items width - configurable widths could include: 25% / 33% / 50% / 66% / 75% / 100%
An items imagery - able to define two image srcs split into 'desktop' and 'mobile' to enable differing views and layouts when combined with configurable widths. Raised as separate issue Menu item support for responsive image sources #198 (in progress)
An option to equalise the height of the title / body fields across each item
Ability to define sections of menu items with or without section headings
