Do I need to keep the car running?

Hi! How does the usual sync workflow look like? I park in the garage, the WiFi connects, starts to sync, but then I turn of the car and the download is interrupted? Or do blackvue dashcams come with some battery that keeps it alive until the download is finished?

It depends...

I have my blackvue connected so that if i turn off my car, its still works and parkmode is activated. I think for 24 hours, or when my battery is lower than a certain value, to make sure that your battery will not drain empty.
This is how i use it my dashcam setup currently.

But there are also batteriesbacks that you can use on you blackvue.
Like a BlackVue Power Magic Battery Pack B-112, Power Magic Ultra Battery B-130X.

You can then use a cron task, to start the script every x time, so that when the blackvue is connected to wifi, that it starts the download.
