No notification on Android 7.1.1

Hi & thanks for your app, i started using it a couple of days ago and it's close to perfect - if only notifications would work. =(
I've tried the "persistent notification" checkbox for my connection, also with restarting the app, but it doesn't show, ever.

This happens on a OnePlus 3 with Android 7.1.1

For me, the app (that I love) crash when I activate the notifications since I updated to 7.0 on my Galaxy S7

Me as well. Ever since Android 7 (and now on 8) I never get a persistent notification and I miss it!

Any updates on this? I'd love to use dmix/MPDroid but without a notification i can't really switch away from my current player.
