Our log files are croweded with upload/download statistics such as:
Completed 2.5 MiB/19.4 MiB (20.6 MiB/s) with 2 file(s) remaining
Completed 2.8 MiB/19.4 MiB (22.2 MiB/s) with 2 file(s) remaining
...

It is worth looking into reducing the verbosity of these logs since they provide little value.

I found this issue on the aws repo, which describes our concern. It appears that passing the --no-progress flag to s3 sync gets rid of the verbose "Complete ..." logs.
