Hi, I've been using Birdtray, and it looks like the latest Thunderbird beta might include some native tray functionality for Linux, but I like the integration and features of systray-x as it stands now. The only feature it's missing that I use constantly with Birdtray is the ability to right-click on the tray menu and select a "New message..." item to open the new message composer window.

Thanks for systray-x!

See branch: feature-compose

I have added the menu item and you can select the "From" accounts to appear in the menu (as single item or sub menu) in the mail preferences menu of Systray-X in TB.
It is possible to extend this functionality with default filled in fields for each selected account but I need to investigate if the options even work and how much work that would be.

See for an extended list here:

https://webextension-api.thunderbird.net/en/stable/compose.html#compose-composedetails

I will do some extra testing before promoting the new item to develop and post again if it is available in develop and/or a new release.
I will add extra functionality for this feature in an other step if feasible and desiired.
