PreviewWidget does not work for Catalogs #61

When selecting (but not opening) a catalog in the browser, the PreviewWidget does not show any data.

Questions worth considering: How should the preview widget show data (1D, 2D, 3D)? How should it select a stream and field?

use best-effort-callback (hint) to figure out how to display the data
default to primary stream, select first field in list of fields
expose a stream/field selector in the browser widget, pass on to the preview widget
