@youknowriad Just double checking that it wasn't intentional that we don't pass context
and className
to components that use editor.BlockEdit
?
I would expect that components using the editor.BlockEdit
filter receive the exact same props as a block's edit
component, which is what this change results in.

Looks like this might have caused a breaking change for folks relying on the editor.BlockEdit
filter to pass context to BlockEdit; see report in #53869. I'm not sure if that was intended behaviour to begin with 😅 but applying the filters to the internal Edit component instead of the outer wrapper results in it no longer being possible.

Thanks, this fixes the original issue for me.

What?
Fixes #52337.
Fixes a bug where Post Featured Image, Post Title, or Post Content blocks that are within a Query Loop would be treated as page content and be unlocked, appear in the List View, and appear in the right sidebar navigation list. This isn't correct—only the top level content blocks related to the page being edited should be treated as page content.
How?
Update
DisableNonPageContentBlocks
so that it disables content blocks that are within a Query Loop.Because this component uses the
editor.BlockEdit
filter, this requires updatingeditor.BlockEdit
so that components using it receive thecontext
prop. Without this there is no other way to access context without modifying the block'sedit
function asBlockContext
is not exported from@wordpress/block-editor
.I also updated it so that the
className
prop is passed along because I believe theeditor.BlockEdit
hook should receive exactly the same props that the block'sedit
function receives.I didn't find any evidence that not passing
context
andclassName
toeditor.BlockEdit
was intentional. I think it was an oversight.Update the right sidebar navigation list's logic to show all top-level non-disabled blocks. That way the logic that determines which blocks appear is all in one place (
DisableNonPageContentBlocks
