It would be handy to know how many PS sessions I already have open because I'll occasionally lose track of them before I close them out.

Best practice is to close out a session when you're done with it.
This feature could also be expanded to add indicators to the prompt of non-PSsession sessions (e.g. Connecting to AzureAD). That might be a separate issue though.
