Like #1 except for some reason I can't get a link like jekyll-wiki-now.wikihydra.com/non-root-page with a non-root Markdown file. Jekyll only wants to render jekyll-wiki-now.wikihydra.com/non-root-page/ or jekyll-wiki-now.wikihydra.com/non-root-page.html by messing with the Markdown file's permalink: front-matter.

Preferably in a _pages directory like this issue mentions.
GH jekyll/jekyll#920
