I want to use this issue to discuss our approach regarding the layout for the Landing Page.
The solution I started before I knew of this is mostly sticking to the old layout, while using Bootstrap 4 for ease of use.

In my opinion we should sketch out a few guidelines to use in a uniform layout and if possible stay close to the overall style of the Fairphone look and feel.

I'd like to hear your opinons and suggestions on this matter!

@duke1102 Please check your mentions on the forum. You should have received a notification about the community design guidelines (and their presentation next month week).

Hi, @duke1102!
Thanks for opening an issue.

For me the question is whether this project should become a landing page/portal or something more. Related to #2.
Because that would give some hints on what the main goals of visitors could be, which in turn influences UI/UX.

Personally, I consider Twitter Bootstrap good for … bootstrapping/prototyping, but lacking personality later on.

I've already heard about mentioned design guidelines via Matrix and will try to attend (have kids at home, which sometimes refuse to sleep early …).

Since the repo was renamed from landing-page to community-portal (thanks @StefanBrand !), you need to change the origin of your local clone by running git remote set-url origin [email protected]:WeAreFairphone/community-portal.git. Check with git pull --rebase. It works, if you don't see a message telling you, that it couldn't read from remote repo.

Thanks @Ryuno-Ki! Did that. Also I permitted myself to edit your comment and fix a typo in the git remote command. (You wrote remore instead of remote.)

I screwed up the navigation header and will look into it next time I touch the code base.
However, we use Roboto now :-)

I was rather keen to have all the required documents in the right places. I've added quite a bunch of them this evening.

@duke1102 Could you look into some designs?
I was thinking on a single-column design, which should scale quite well over all viewports. I let you free hand. Try to adhere to the Community identity repository.

The Roboto font does not load in my localhost:4000 in Firefox:

Probably something to do with mixing http and https, firefox blocks that out of security reasons. I'll take a look at it this evening when I'm back home! (Community Meetup in Bremen over New Year's, now I'm fully available again.)
