Apple is aggressively getting developers to switch web connections to HTTPS. Plain HTTP connections must be registered as exceptions. Also, IPv6 connections can only connect via HTTPS.
IPv6 is convenient for multipath TCP, which allows an uninterrupted stream of TCP packets to be received if a device switches between wifi and cellular, or between any two modes.
