Jackson Singleton Access

lib jackson singleton Version Required JVM Version

Provides a singleton over a universally configured FasterXML Jackson JSON ObjectMapper instance API.

This is intended to unify the access of Jackson object mappers to avoid multiple separately configured instances floating about in a single project.

Additionally, provides a set of helper/utility methods for working with Jackson APIs in Kotlin.

Usage

Features

Preconfigured ObjectMapper Singleton

All submodules include an ObjectMapper instance configured with the standard Java8+ module set along with Kotlin specific extras.

Mixins

Conversion

Includes conversion mixins for collections and sequences to ArrayNode instances as well as from maps or streams of Pair instances to ObjectNode instances.

Jackson Extensions

Adds mixins for Jackson types to support Kotlin unsigned types as well as convenience functions for common operations, such as appending values if not-null.

Function Mirroring

The data format subprojects 'mirror' the functions defined in the common library injecting the correct ObjectMapper instance for their target data format.

For example, the common library provides a Sequence to JsonArray mixin function, but differs from the signature of the parallel function in the JSON library in that the common implementation also takes a constructor function that it uses to get the correct JsonNode instance from. The JSON parallel signature omits the constructor function as it passes the Json::newArray function for that parameter.
