Is anyone using D3 in an unexpected or particularly cool way in an application? Also, is anyone using it with sockets or constantly changing data, and what are the particular challenges?

Note: give me 6 months and I'd be happy to talk about this. XD I use D3 a bit at work, but in fairly limited/standard ways.
