Unable to open galaxies

Versions 1.5.4 and 1.6 load galaxies fine but 1.7 and some other versions fail to do so without an error message or crash. I've reinstalled and tried many times with different methods, doesn't seem to work

as said in the README, Whitehole requires a very specific Java setup. you need Java 11

I have java 11 installed, the issue still persists

1.7 now loads galaxies but now both 1.6 and 1.7 have the same rendering issue for newer java versions that 1.6 had. 1.7.1 doesn't load galaxies at all now despite me getting java 11 past a reboot

I'm having a similar issue: I can't open up galaxies on 1.7. I have the latest release of Java. I can open up galaxies on 1.6, and the two versions I use have the same configuration.

I can't open Whitehole on any version, and i have installed java 17 and 11. Does anyone know what to do next?
