A lot of successful open source projects have an Open Collective page that shows (1) how much money they have (2) what it's being spent on (3) gives them a way for people to contribute financially (4) show a list of orgs who are supporting the project. Would be nice for the community archive, at the very least to pay for the Supabase / server costs. And in the future would be nice to like compensate designers or developers working on specific things
(this would be separate from apps built on top of the community archive that can monetize and make a profit. I think our stance is anyone who creates value on top of open source should be able to capture it. And CA itself can make "first party apps" that are monetized and feed into the public infrastructure that anyone can leverage)
