Bug description:

Texworks closes without any error, following compilation of .pdf. On opening Texworks again, loading the same .tex file it crashes with this error:

symbol lookup error: texworks: undefined symbol: _ZN12QtConcurrent16ThreadEngineBase13startBlockingEv, version Qt_5

Steps to reproduce the problem:

  1. Create file in Texworks and save
  2. Set processing tool to pdfLaTeX or XeLaTex and compile to .pdf (texworks vanishes from screen, but .pdf is compiled)
  3. Start Texworks from terminal, with .tex file as parameter, will crash with above error.

Expected behavior:
Start normally and allow continuation of editing

General information:
TeXworks version: Version 0.6.5 ("personal") [r.649699a0, 3/25/20 6:49 PM]
TeXworks obtained from: PCLinuxOS Repo
Operating system: PCLinuxOS (2023) - 6.3.6-pclos1

From searching the internet, this may be related to a mismatch between the Qt version used for compilation and the Qt version installed on your system.
Could you please provide the full configuration info shown when you click on "Help > Email to mailing list"?
Also, does the problem persist building TeXworks yourself (see general building instructions for Linux)?
