Sometimes a sentence is linked to multiple sentences that are very different from each other, often because it can be interpreted both literally and idiomatically like the sentences below.

https://tatoeba.org/en/sentences/show/10493987

https://tatoeba.org/en/sentences/show/10495250

https://tatoeba.org/en/sentences/show/2596117

In such cases, tagging the sentence itself as 'idiomatic', 'imperative', 'slang' or 'informal' isn't appropriate because the tag suits one link, but contradicts the other. If there were a way to tag links just like to tag sentences, the issue could be handled in that way.

The same applies to reviews as well. When a sentence is linked to multiple sentences in different languages, rating it OK just by comparing it with the translation in one language is tricky. It isn't clear if 'OK' refers to the bare sentence itself (grammatically), the link with one language, or everything. In other words, the review mark doesn't say much about what is verified or marked wrong. Having a way to review links just like the sentence itself would disambiguate that.

This suggestion isn't meant to substitute the current way of tagging and reviewing sentences, but to provide extra functionality.

This is also related to #1902 and #2517.
