7.6.2 (Incompatible Alienware hardware handling and bugfixes)

Important! If you are using tools for the first time, please read Beginner's guide and AlienFX-GUI readme to configure out it's concept and operation principle.

Warning!

Configuration format is changed seriously into this release! Backup your configuration using alienfx-config!

• You will lose all fan settings and fan sensor names in case you roll back from this version to 7.5.0
• You will lose all sensor names and sensor settings for AlienFX-Mon tool if you upgrade from 7.5.0 or earlier!

Changes into this release:

All GUI tools:

• Fix for rare situation icon not added to tray, but tool still running. Now it will try to add icon then possible.

All fan control tools:

• Alienware x-series support tuned.
• Bug fixed: App stop with exception in case started at Alienware device which is not support fan control (older Alienware systems like 15rX, m14x).

All fan control GUI tools:

• Bug fixed: Fan control still using disabled fan curves.
• Bug fixed: Max. RPM check reset fan max. boost.
• Bug fixed: Incorrect fan curve edited in some cases.

AlienFX-GUI:

• Fan control enabled by default (for new users).

AlienFX-Mon:

• Update optimization.
• Bug fixed: Elevating application to administrator level provide ghost sensor icons at tray.

AlienFan-CLI:

• Some command interface changed:
  • getfans now can retrieve boost for one fan only (provide ID).
  • "raw" used for boost mode instead of 0/1.
• Message added if Alienware hardware found, but not supported.
• Application will try its best even if no compatible hardware found, some commands will work anyway.
