The gene's function explicitly states that it does not transport carnitine nor acylcarnitines, which are the substrates in the given reaction. Therefore, the gene and the reaction are not related. No
ENSG00000149742 Q8IVM8 MAR02757: arachidonyl-carnitine + L-carnitine <=> arachidonyl-carnitine + L-carnitine ENSG00000149742 or ENSG00000175003 or ENSG00000178537 or ENSG00000197119 or ENSG00000197208 Pending No, the gene is not relevant to the reaction provided. Analysis and explanation: The gene ENSG00000149742 encodes a sodium-independent organic anion transporter with a high specificity for sulfated conjugates of xenobiotics and steroid hormones, such as estrone 3-sulfate and dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate. It facilitates the exchange of sulfated organic compounds with short-chain fatty acids, specifically butanoate, propanoate, and pentanoate. The gene's annotated catalytic activities do not include any reactions involving arachidonyl-carnitine and L-carnitine. Therefore, it is unrelated to the reaction involving arachidonyl-carnitine and L-carnitine. No
ENSG00000149742 Q8IVM8 MAR02760: L-carnitine + ocosatetraenoylcarnitine <=> L-carnitine + ocosatetraenoylcarnitine ENSG00000149742 or ENSG00000175003 or ENSG00000178537 or ENSG00000197119 or ENSG00000197208 Pending No, the gene is not relevant to the reaction provided. Analysis and explanation. The annotation of gene ENSG00000149742 indicates that it functions as a sodium-independent organic anion transporter with specificity for sulfated conjugates of xenobiotics and steroid hormones such as estrone 3-sulfate and dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate. Its catalytic activities include the transport of these sulfated compounds and short-chain fatty acids like butanoate, propanoate, and pentanoate across hepatocyte membranes. However, the reaction provided¡ªL-carnitine + ocosatetraenoylcarnitine <=> L-carnitine + ocosatetraenoylcarnitine¡ªdoes not involve any sulfated conjugates, xenobiotics, or fatty acids, nor does it pertain to the exchange activities described for the gene. Thus, the gene and the reaction are not related. No
ENSG00000197119 Q8N8R3 MAR02760: L-carnitine + ocosatetraenoylcarnitine <=> L-carnitine + ocosatetraenoylcarnitine ENSG00000149742 or ENSG00000175003 or ENSG00000178537 or ENSG00000197119 or ENSG00000197208 Pending No, the gene is not relevant to the reaction provided. Analysis and explanation. The gene ENSG00000197119 is involved in the mitochondrial transport of specific amino acids such as arginine, lysine, homoarginine, methylarginine, ornithine, and histidine. It does not transport carnitine or acylcarnitines, as confirmed by PubMed:24652292. The reaction provided involves L-carnitine and ocosatetraenoylcarnitine, which are not substrates for the transporter encoded by this gene. Therefore, there is no relation between the gene and the reaction provided. No
ENSG00000197119 Q8N8R3 MAR02764: (4Z,7Z,10Z,13Z,16Z)-docosapentaenoylcarnitine + L-carnitine <=> (4Z,7Z,10Z,13Z,16Z)-docosapentaenoylcarnitine + L-carnitine ENSG00000149742 or ENSG00000175003 or ENSG00000178537 or ENSG00000197119 or ENSG00000197208 Pending No, the gene is not relevant to the reaction provided. Analysis and explanation: The gene ENSG00000197119 encodes a mitochondrial transporter specific for several basic amino acids including arginine, lysine, homoarginine, methylarginine, ornithine, and histidine. It does not transport carnitine or acylcarnitines. The described reaction involves the exchange of (4Z,7Z,10Z,13Z,16Z)-docosapentaenoylcarnitine and L-carnitine, which are not substrates for the transporter encoded by ENSG00000197119. Therefore, the gene is not relevant to the reaction. No

Please Retain ENSG00000197208 for MAR02734, as it may function as a low-affinity, Na+-dependent transporter of L-carnitine across the mitochondrial membrane, thereby supporting intracellular carnitine homeostasis (PubMed:10215651, PubMed:15107849, PubMed:16729965).

LGTM! This issue is the same with last one, since three genes (ENSG00000197119 ENSG00000149742 ENSG00000175003) cannot transport L-carnitine.
